Will Mayo is a Los Angeles-based editor, writer, and director. His work includes editing independent features, series, commercials, and shorts, which have screened at Sundance Film Festival, Venice Biennale, Berlinale, Telluride, and other top-tier film festivals. He edited Grindr’s Emmy-nominated venture into scripted series, Bridesman, as well as the acclaimed shorts Starfuckers and Marcy Learns Something New, the latter of which he also produced. He’s an experienced sound editor, having worked on nationally broadcast commercials, indie features, and shorts which have screened at renowned festivals. Hailing from rural Tennessee, he holds a BFA in Film & TV production from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Two short films he directed, First Night Out and As Beautiful Inside, became Vimeo Staff Picks. His latest short, The Mountain, which he directed with his fiancé and creative partner Ian Scott McGregor, is about to hit the festival circuit.
